This program is offered through the European Study Abroad Center (ESAC) and the University of Economics (VSE) in Prague. No tuition or student fees are paid to Virginia Tech. The program is a direct enroll program with pre-approved transfer credits. Your program fee does include fees to VSE for its services.
The program is 6 weeks long from June 3 to July 15. This allows the students to complete 2 lecture classes plus a language, culture and travel course. 9 CREDITS! The language and culture class meets area 2 requirement. Students will have weekends and a long break to travel on their own. There will also be planned excursions to Czech towns and historic sites during the program.
Students will stay in fully-furnished apartments near the city center and university. The apartments have kitchen, balcony, wi-fi and night security staff. The building quiet hours are 10pm–7am. This will be strictly enforced.
There are many travel opportunities during the program. Students have 3-day weekends and one 5-day break. Prague is close to many major European cities. Students can also find inexpensive flights throughout Europe.
Faculty can assist in making travel recommendations but organizing travel details and accommodation will be the students' responsibility. More information about travelling around Prague can be found here.
